Research on hydroforming of 5A06 aluminum alloy semi-ellipsoid shell with differential thickness

For the purpose of eliminating annular welding seams in structures with differential thickness, a hydroforming method using circular 5A06 aluminum alloy plate radial thickness coupling flexible polyurethane auxiliary was proposed to form an integrated semi-ellipsoid shell. The had smaller middle and larger periphery. In forming process such plates, concentrated deformation fracture might have occurred thin zone. According size target specimen, testing plates two types ratios were obtained by mechanical processing. Furthermore, strain drawn specimens different analyzed under hydraulic pressure means deep drawing experiments. Compared conventional drawing, formability could be effectively improved hydroforming. shells 2/3 1/2 10 MPa maximum thinning 8.5% 10.9%, respectively. word, increase reduce ratio zone, improve distribution uniformity.
